A Sweater a Day…

…keeps the doctor away.

I recently had a sweater conundrum. Cooler temperatures brought on sweater days, and I ransacked my winter stash with glee. I didn’t, however, (yet again) initially consider sweater selections with baby in mind. After a day of rubbing her face into my wool-sweatered chest, however, Tayla was left with dry, raw, red and irritated cheeks. Once again, a large portion of my sweater selection was tucked away for next year, and the hunt was on for sweaters that were soft enough for baby. Here are a few options I’ve come up with.

sweaterphoto1These super fuzzy sweaters are really popular this winter, and hooray for moms because they are also super soft. And warm. And cozy. You can’t tell in this photo, but this one is also a v-neck, making it breastfeeding friendly. I paired it with patterened Levis mentioned in a previous post, just in case I need to put baby in her carrier.
I found my sweater on lulus.com for $40. It’s since sold out, but here’s another one in a great color from the same site.

Another option is this ridiculously soft sweater by Lush that I found at Nordstrom Rack for $20 not too long ago. It has a beautiful tulip back that adds a fun detail.

sweaterphoto4This is a lightweight sweater, so I layered a denim top underneath and added riding boots.

It also looks really cute belted:

Forever21 has a tulip back sweater in black and white for a similar price:

Last but definitely not least is a sweater that I also got from lulu’s (ina fashion be a lamb cream sparkle sweater). It’s probably my favorite sweater — super soft loose knit with just a touch of silver sparkle (but not the scratchy kind). It actually has little black bows all over it, but I wear it inside out for now (I figure I can get double the wear out of it once baby is walking around and I don’t have to worry about textures as much).

sweaterphoto2I wore it with my DIY patchwork jeans today, but it goes with just about everything. Here’s what it looks like right side out:
